A pair of vintage painted wood nursery book troughs, each featuring an angled rack design with raised end supports and an applied carved wooden mouse figure. The collection includes one example finished in a sage green paint, with the top rail bearing a handwritten inscription in black cursive script reading ...little mouse with clogs on..., and a carved natural wood mouse affixed to the upper left edge. The second trough is decorated in a distressed off-white and pale yellow finish, inscribed to the lower rail with ...saw a mouse - where? in a similar script, and featuring a corresponding carved mouse figure to the side. Both pieces are of simple softwood construction, designed for tabletop or desktop display of children's books.
