A mid-20th-century vintage wicker laundry trunk of rectangular steamer style form, constructed from woven willow cane with reinforced edges. The flat-topped hinged lid is strengthened with bentwood cane bands and heavy-gauge iron strap work to the rear hinges. The front features a substantial iron closing mechanism consisting of a long drop-pin locking bar passing through twin eyelet hasps. The sides are fitted with woven wicker carry handles, and the interior is fully lined with a fixed protective fabric, featuring a dark-coloured lining to the sides and base and a lighter cream-coloured fabric to the underside of the lid.
