A Victorian silver mounted cut glass claret jug of squash form (by Edward Hutton for William Hutton & Sons, London 1893)
No longer availableA Victorian silver mounted cut glass claret jug of squash form (by Edward Hutton for William Hutton & Sons, London 1893), 31.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Glass appears intact. The silver itself - there is a significant scratch to the handle. However it looks as though it has been polished/cleaned with a really fine grade wire wool, the exterior silver has a whiter look rather than a "silver glossy" look and there is some really fine scratches - see images for further details. There are no major dents etc, however there are a few small knocks conducive with age and use. The hinge is working properly. The lid sits slightly proud at the spout end - see image. Hallmarks are present and legible - see images. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use. Capacity is just over 2 pints.
