A Victorian Hanau silver pill box by Berthold Muller. Of circular form, with a slightly domed lid decorated with an embossed cherub throwing stars and moons into the clouds and sea below, the rim is beaded and the sides are decorated with stylised foliate and scrollwork. The interior is worn gilt, hallmarked Chester 1899 and has the foreign import mark, beside is a series of German/continental silver marks; height 2.4cm, diameter 3.3cm, weight 0.66ozt.
