A large 20th century machine-woven wool carpet of Persian Mashad design, the deep madder red central field densely decorated with an all-over floral and foliate pattern featuring repeating floral sprays, scrolling vines, and palmettes, enclosed within a complex border system including a wide cream primary border with stylized floral motifs and arabesques, flanked by multiple narrow guard borders in navy, light blue, and orange with repeating geometric patterns, finished with a short white fringe. The reverse shows the regular, uniform structure characteristic of machine production. Some wear but no obvious holes or major stains, approx 400 x 300cm
