WILLIAM MARTIN, BRISTOL A LATE 17TH CENTURY BRASS LANTERN CLOCK the brass case with strapped bell, pierced foliate frets, four turned finials and columns, on ball feet enclosing a 6 1/4" chapter ring with Roman numerals and a scrolling engraved centre fronting a weight-driven movement with anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell. 38cm high The dial, frame and movement are all original. The side doors have been replaced, and the escapement has been converted from verge to anchor. The clock ticks and strikes but needs cleaning.
