JOHN WILLATS, LONDON, A GEORGE III BRASS INLAID EBONY VENEERED VERGE BRACKET CLOCK the bell top case with ormolu mouldings and brass string inlay, enclosing a 7" arched brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with mock pendulum and date aperture, foliate spandrels and a subsidiary Strike/Silent dial to the arch, fronting an eight day double fusee movement with verge escapement and a foliate engraved backplate striking on a bell. 45cm high (not including handle) The clock is in working condition and strikes the correct hours and half-hours. The movement is original to the case but is missing the two bolts from underneath that hold it in place. The case has minor surface scratches but is otherwise in very nice original condition, with no losses.
