A CHARLES II BRASS STRIKING LANTERN CLOCK of typical strapped bell form with pierced foliate frets, turned corner columns and ball feet enclosing a 6 1/4" Roman chapter ring with tulip-engraved centre signed Humphrey Bannister, Croydon; fronting a two-train weight-driven movement with anchor escapement striking on the bell. 6 1/4in diameter The escapement has been converted to an anchor; otherwise, it is a very good original example. Comes with a weight and pendulum.
