A LATE 19TH CENTURY GORGE CASED GILT BRASS ENGRAVED AND ENAMELLED REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK having a carrying handle and engraved black enamelled panels, enclosing a white enamel Roman dial with subsidiary alarm dial, fronting an original jewelled balance wheel escapement striking the hours and half hours on a gong, fitted in a leather carrying case. 15.5cm high including handle The gilding is in good condition, with no chips or cracks in the glass panels. There are losses to the enamel highlights on the mask. The enamel dials are undamaged. The movement may need a service, but it is in working condition and striking/repeating the correct hours. Comes with winding key.
