Two late 19th to early 20th-century, Thomas Webb and Sons (Stourbridge) engraved 'Rock Crystal' cocktail glasses by William Fritsche (1853–1924), of attractive small size, featuring a charmingly detailed cockeral motif, its head breaking through the geometric pattern to reach the softly flared rim, complemented by diamond and hobstar-style cuts leading to a faceted stem upon a circular star-cut base, script engraved outside bowl bottom reading 'WFritsche' and stem bottom acid stamped 'Webb', 10cm in height, condition consistent with age and use, with a 0.4cm chip to the corner of one star cut on one example and a 0.3cm nick to another star cut on the other. Another example of these wine goblets is held in the collection of the Chrysler Museum of Art, where it is currently on display.
