A late 19th or early 20th-century aneroid barograph, a scientific instrument designed for the continuous recording of atmospheric pressure. The instrument is housed in a polished mahogany case featuring a lift-off cover with five beveled glass panes. The mahogany base is constructed with a built-in drawer containing a supply of recording charts. The internal mechanism consists of an eight-tier aneroid bellows stack connected via a brass linkage system to a long recording arm fitted with a metal ink nib. The recording drum, finished in a brass tone, is designed to rotate via an internal clockwork movement. The drum is currently fitted with a paper chart graduated from 950 to 1050 millibars.
