A late 19th or early 20th century turned hardwood Saxony treadle spinning wheel, constructed with a canted bench supported on three turned legs united by stretchers, incorporating a triangular foot treadle linked via a wooden footman to the crank axle. The 16-spoke drive wheel features a grooved rim and turned baluster spokes, mounted alongside an upright mother-of-all assembly complete with flyer, bobbin, maidens, and horizontal wooden tensioning screw. The surface is carved and turned throughout, unmarked, showing age-related surface wear, missing drive band.
