A large George III flame mahogany linen press wardrobe, of two-piece construction, the upper section featuring a prominent moulded cornice with a decorative scalloped blind fret carved frieze, over a pair of large doors each inset with two book-matched flame mahogany oval veneers within cross-banded borders and string inlay, the doors opening to a large interior compartment currently fitted with a later brass hanging rail and showing traditional recessed pine back panels, the side panels fitted with oval brass plate handles with swing bails and brass keyhole escutcheons, all raised on a base section. The exterior is finished in highly figured veneers throughout. Approx dimensions Height 193 Width 140 Depth 60cm
